Pilates & Us

Pilates is a method of body conditioning learned through a sequence of exercises on a range of apparatus including the Reformer, Wunda Chair, Cadillac, Barrels and the Mat.

The sequence was designed by Joseph Pilates as a routine of exercises to strengthen the body and mind, test stamina, determination, mental resiliency and mindfulness.
You will see a likeness to gymnastics and calisthenics, to be practiced over a long period of time.

The Pilates method will introduce concepts like:

  • Body awareness
  • Breath awareness
  • Strength and mobility
  • Efficiency in movement
  • Coordination
  • Resiliency
  • Motor learning

Pilates is our vehicle of choice in promoting joyful, fearless movement.

We wholeheartedly believe it should be a good time.

Our priority is to facilitate a learning environment. You’ll hear cues that help you learn, understand and translate it into something you can achieve. With each session you’ll be able to absorb a new layer, cue and develop/refine your skills. We’re in it for the long haul and wish to inspire a long term relationship with Pilates, but ultimately with movement.
